Alba Dominguez, a PSM-ABS graduate student in the lab, was selected to receive the Margaret Bilson Scholarship for the Spring 2020 semester. Congratulations, Alba!
Dr. Laura Knoll Visits the Koshy Lab!
We were thrilled to have Dr. Laura Knoll stop by the lab and discuss the work her lab is doing as well as get another perspective on our research. Dr. Knoll presented her research, which includes modeling the T. gondii sexual life cycle in vitro and in vivo (which is no small feat), during the Department of Immunobiology's seminar series. Unfortunately, we forgot to grab a lab picture with Dr. Knoll. We enjoyed the visit nonetheless!
Happy Halloween!
Just after SCEP, the lab members who were in town celebrated Halloween by dressing up as characters from Inside Out.

Koshy Lab Attends SCEP 2019
We had a great showing at the Southern California Eukaryotic Pathogen Symposium (SCEP). Josh gave a well-received talk on ROP16 and Toxoplasma encystment. Kathryn gave a great poster suggesting Toxoplasma may not cause a life-long brain infection (just a very slowly cleared one…) Oscar’s poster on the electrophysiology of Toxoplasma-injected neurons was awarded 2nd place.
